| These
page is dedicated to my Silverado SS. We got tired of the
Trans Am's limited hauling capability and decided on an extended
cab truck to replace it with. Other models of hot rod trucks
were considered (supercharged Harley Ford F150 or SRT-10 Ram),
but with the SS being full time AWD, my decision was easy...
the truck has to pull daily driver status through harsh Midwestern
winters and endure about 20-25K miles a year of traveling
the whole US for my job. Sure, it would have been nice to
have a factory supercharger or a wild 500 horse V-10, but
I'll be sure to photograph the first Harley or SRT-10 truck
I see out driving in the middle of a blizzard!!! |

Coming soon! I'm not 100% sure if
I want to build a custom CAI here or simply modify the stock
air box for ram air (already has a K&N panel filter
in there).

Interior Pics
| I'll have more
here spring/summer 2006 as I plan on redoing the stereo
system. I'll maintain the factory 6 disc in dash changer
as it does have aux inputs for a DVD player and actually
does have a relatively clean sound when used with aftermarket
amps. Speakers are undecided at the moment, but the box
design will take up most of the room under the rear seat,
with amps behind on the rear cab wall. I was a professional
installer back in '96, so we'll see if I can dust off my
old MECP certification and put something worthy of an IASCA
sound off into my current ride. |

Suspension Pics
| I'll be doing front/rear
sway bars, new shocks, and anything else I can find to try to
control this thing. This is the first vehicle I've ever been car
sick in since my friend's 80's era Caprice Classic back in high
school. Any trip over about two hours gives me "the sways"
and I have to pull over to a rest stop for a few minutes before
continuing on. The suspension suffers from what I call "drunk
whale" syndrome, even with the improved underpinnings GM
saw fit to install on the SS over the regular Silverados. Not
sure why I get sick in cars and trucks with the plush rides and
not even a hint of car sickness in the most stiffly sprung race
cars, but it sure gives me a nice excuse to mod the truck! |
